The project faces the construction of commercial space in an elongated rectangular plot between medians in the old town of Vilanova and la Geltrú. The use of a metal portico structure parallel to the street facade is proposed. These structural ribs allow to cover large lights creating a diaphanous space without the need for intermediate supports and the choice of a light shed type roof, which allows ventilation and zenital light entry, something that is not usual in this type of buildings. At the bottom of the plot is the server spaces (warehouse, workshop and areas for staff), the rest of the diaphanous surface occupying the exhibition space.
The facade to the street is fully glazed inviting the entrance of the pedestrians, the access in the axis of symmetry allows flexibility when distributing the product exhibition furniture. At this point the building takes the scale of the environment, aligning with the neighbouring townhouses, ground floor and floor, suspended vertical wooden slats, provide plasticity to the facade and protect the double-height interior space from direct solar radiation from South.
The constructive elements such as the sheet metal of the inclined roof and the metal jars of the porches are left visible, leaving the space as nondescript as possible while waiting for the different occupants that it may have in the future.
