Mataró, Barcelona – Spain
The project is in a residential development of large plots and low density in the Maresme region. The corner land with east-west orientation presents a slight slope and unobstructed view of the Mediterranean. The extensive residential program is distributed over three floors: service area, game room and parking in the basement, with access from the street, the living and kitchen area, guest room and children on the ground floor and the Parent area on the first floor, comprising the bedroom, bathroom, dressing room, study and gym.
Volumetrically, a binuclear scheme is chosen, a volume of a single height grouping the night area at the garden level and another of two floors with the day areas in contact with the land and the area reserved for parents on the first level . The relationship between these two bodies is articulated through a patio, access and the core of vertical communications, allowing cross views between the different spaces and the garden.
The envelope is solved by a two-leaf wall and air chamber with an exterior white brick finish of the Thoro house, covering the reticular structure of concrete pillars. In the spaces between the holes of the side facades, a ceramic finish with a tone similar to that of aluminum carpentry and adjustable roller blinds is used, unifying them and providing them with an entity on the white background of the work seen. The east facade with stunning sea views is composed as a large double glazed void, encompassing the exit of the master bedroom, the double living space and the kitchen porch, X steps of the width of the house save the slope to the Pool / spa of white Venetian mosaic and the rest of the garden, in which the existing trees are conserved in the plot.
